Reuben Henry "Woody" Wood, Jr., 74, of Mattapoisett died November 4, 2009 at Tobey Hospital.
He was the husband of Judith Ann (Winters) Wood.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Reuben Henry Wood, Crystal (Davis) Wood and step-son of the late Doris (Buchanan) Wood, he lived in Dartmouth before moving to Mattapoisett in 1963.
Mr. Wood attended the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.
He was formerly employed as a laborer in the construction industry for many years until retirement. In retirement he sold produce roadside at the Mattapoisett park and ride.
Mr. Wood was a member of the Smith Mills Grange and the Marion Grange.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, William Henry Wood and his family of Vermont and Thomas A. Wood and his wife Stacy of Ft. Myers, FL and their children Zack Cook, Nathaniel Cook, Gabriel Wood and Saige Wood; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gardner D. Wood
Visiting hours Saturday, November 7th from 1-5 PM followed by his Funeral Service at 5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
