Anderson, William J."Bill", 78 of Marshfield, Died on November 2 after a short illness. Loving husband of Joan Anderson. Dear father of Doreen Jerauld of Chatham, MA, Judith Anderson of Wiscasset, ME, Michelle Anderson of Bremen, ME, Michael Canniff, David Canniff, Scott Canniff all of Marshfield, Ma. Cheryl Plummer of So. Bristol, ME, Debby Gulbranson of Jackson WI. "PA" is survived by 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren and Pre-deceased by children William and Donna Anderson, James Canniff, his brothers Russell and Thomas Anderson and sister Rosella Gerrish
He attended Braintree HS and was employed at the Fore River Shipyard before enlisting in the service. He served with the 1st Cavalry Division in the Korean War for 17 months and a member of the 16th reconnaissance company. He belonged to the VFW and the American Legion for many years. Bill was a self employed heavy equipment operator and business owner who retired from Clean Harbors Inc. He liked tinkering in his shop and was involved with the Freedom Wheels program.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean, Rte 139 Marshfield Saturday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Careswell St Marshfield at 10:00 am
Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 7 pm
Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
