Obituary

Rhea M. Falardeau, 89, formerly of Third Ave., Woonsocket, died Thursday at St. Antoine Residence. She was wife of Edward A. Falardeau. Mr. & Mrs. Falardeau were married on October 18, 1941 and were blessed with 68 years together.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Defosse) Doire. Rhea was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Falardeau was employed as an inspector for AT Cross in Lincoln for many years. She previously worked at Narraganset Knitting and Lafayette Worsted mills. She was a member of the AARP and enjoyed participating in various activities with the Sacred Heart Seniors.
Rhea was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and took special pride in her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jeanne C. Falardeau of North Smithfield, and Nancy A. Nelson, and her husband Bruce, of Chepachet. Three grandchildren, Steven B. Nelson of Lincoln, and Bethany A. and Debra L. Nelson, both of Chepachet. She was the sister of the late Ernest, Rene, Romulus “Skippy”, Herve, Arthur, and Leo Doire, and Theodora “Dora” Doire, Flora Morel, Anna Pelerin, Leona Galant, Cora Autotte, and Rosa St. Laurent. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7 pm.
