Alix, Hilda J. (Sylvia), age 86, of Laconia, NH, formerly of New Bedford, MA, Marshfield, MA and Gilford, NH. She was an 8 year resident at the Taylor Community in Laconia, NH where she passed away on Wednesday Oct. 28.Hilda was the loving wife of the late Maurice R. Alix for 64 years. Dear mother of Barbara (Alix) Trongone and her husband Robert Trongone of Pembroke, MA. She also leaves 3 grandsons Gary Trongone and his wife Debbie of Marshfield, Randy Trongone and his wife Carrie of Hanson, and Marc Trongone and his wife Sarah of Pembroke. She is the cherished great grandmother of Matthew and Michael Trongone, Madison, Gabrielle and Ryan Trongone and Emily and Lauren Trongone.
Hilda was born in New Bedford, MA on June 9, l923 and was a graduate of New Bedford High School. She assisted her husband in NAPA auto parts businesses. For many years she was an active participant in senior activities and often assumed a leadership role. She loved to travel, read and ski with her family. When her grandchildren were young she enjoyed volunteering at their schools and accompanying their classes on field trips. In later years she volunteered at the Gunstock ski school working with young children.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte, l39, Marshfield on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of The Assumption Church, corner of Canal and Careswell St at l0 a.m.
Visiting hours on Monday , Nov 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
