Anthony "Skip" Pero 84, of 547 Clinton St. died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Jeannine (Raymond) Bonollo. Mr. Pero was born in Woonsocket a son of the Louis and Ella (Ducharme) Pero. Skip was a baker for forty years for the former Belisle's Bakery and several years for Dunkin Donuts. He also worked in the Maintenance Department for the City of Woonsocket for over ten years. Skip was a lifetime member of the Woonsocket Elks and was Elk of the Year in 1990, he was a member of the Cercle Laurier, St. Joseph Veteran Assoc., the Italian Working Men's Club and the DAV Post #7. He was also an avid golfer.
Besides his wife he is survived by eight children, Denis Pero of Woonsocket, Nello Bonollo of Uxbridge, Bertha Arel, Barbara Bianco, Connie Hazlip, and Denise Lapointe all of Woonsocket, Alan Cote of NY, and Philip Cote of FL., a brother Henry Pero, and two sisters Alma Bulwa, and Orise Benoit all of Woonsocket, many grandchldren including Michael, Steven, and Kenneth Beauchesne, Kim Correia, and David Bonollo, and many great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Glen Pero.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 PM.
