Anthony P. Amoriggi, 91, passed away Thursday, October 29,2009 at the home of his daughter in Greenville, RI. He was the husband of Margaret(Lamoriello) Amoriggi.
Born in Providence, he was the son of Pietro and Giovannia (Miale) Amoriggi.
Anthony was an owner with his brothers of the former Amoriggi Sea Food Inc.
He was one of the founders and was President of the Rhode Island Seafood Council. He was a member of the Lions Club. He served as a Sunday Mass commenter at Our Lady of Grace Church for many years and was the chairperson in charge of Fund raising for the Christian Brothers retirement home in Narragansett.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Marguerite Santopietro and her husband, Thomas; a son, Anthony Amoriggi and his wife, Daniela; a brother Louis Amoriggi; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Cosmo, Joseph and Peter Amoriggi, Mary McGloin and Rose Green.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Tuesday,November 3, 2009 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road,Johnston, RI. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
