Robert R. Villandry, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley G. (Richardson) Villandry.
Robert was born in Lowell on Sept. 25, 1933, a son of the late William "Sailor Bill" Villandry, Jr. and Simonne (Turcotte) Villandry. He was a Dracut resident for many years and served 19 years with the National Guard.
Robert was a carpenter during his working years and prior to his retirement, he was employed with R. M. Hicks of Westford for five years. He was a member of the Senior Citizen Club of Dracut and enjoyed dancing.
He is survived by his seven children, Ronald and Angie Villandry of Hudson, NH, Debra Villandry of Embden, ME, Diane and Daniel Plummer of VA, Robert W. Villandry of Hampton, NH, Richard Villandry of Derry, NH, Doris Villandry and Doreen Villandry both of VT; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgette and Roland Gagne and Pauline Boudries all of Dracut; a sister-in-law Charline Villandry of Las Vegas, NV; a dear friend, Yvette Smith of Dracut; also many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Roger Villandry and brother of the late Roland Villandry.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Sunday Nov. 1 from 3 to 6pm. His funeral will take place from the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:30am followed by a prayer service at the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery at 10:30am. Interment to follow.
