Obituary

Angelina "Grammy" Valarese, a life-long resident of Boston’s North End died peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by her family after a long and happy life. She was 95.

“Grammy was born and raised in the North End the daughter of the late Michele and the late Angelina (Valenti) Albanese. In her early years she worked as a candy maker but later devoted herself to the care of her family. Her care and friendship towards so many in her neighborhood earned her the title of “Grammy” from all who knew her.

She was the beloved wife of the late Domenic Valarese. She was a devoted mother to Joseph Valarese of East Boston and the late Michael. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister of the late William and Jerry Albanese.

Her funeral mass will be offered in Sacred Heart Church, North Square, Boston, Saturday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family at church, one hour prior to mass. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
