SHREWSBURY___Stephen J. Poltorak, 94, of Shrewsbury Crossing, formerly of Seymour Street, Worcester, died Tuesday Oct. 27, 2009 in Radius Health Care, Worcester.
He leaves nieces and nephews including his nephew and caregiver, Jim Poltorak, he also leaves grand nieces and grand nephews. He was born in Housatonic, Ma., one of six children of Alexander and Rose (Jurek) Poltorak and has lived in Worcester for most of his life.
Mr. Poltorak was a cook 10 years for the College of the Holy Cross and retired in 1978. Before then he had been a cook for the White Tower Restaurant in Worcester. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester and the Bakery & Confectionery Worker's Union.
The family would like to thank the staff of Shrewsbury Crossing and Radius Health Care especially Patty as well as Marion and Lisa from Hospice for the care given to Stephen.
The funeral will be held on Friday, October 30, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
