Louis J. Avantino, 81, of Smithfield and Florida, a retired policeman, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009. He was the husband of Norma (Grasso) DeCesare-Avantino and the late Jean Avantino.
He was a WWII Army Veteran and had served in Germany.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Kathy Patterson and her husband, James and a son Louis Avantino and his wife Connie and grandchildren Lori and Jennifer Esposito and Louis, Joseph and Danielle Avantino. He is also survived by his wife Norma's Family, Americo DeCesare, Diane Lisi, Denise Burns and their children, Anthony and Christopher Lisi, Adrienne Blanchette, Nichole DeCesare, Sarah Spaulding, Alexis Burns and Gianna and Hannah.
Funeral Monday at 8 am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial Monday at 1pm with military honors in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich, CT . Visitation and flowers respectfully omitted.
