Jesup- Mother Sylvia Foster, age 61, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Jesup Healthcare under the care of Hospice of South Georgia after an extended illness. She was a native of Brooklyn, New York, living the past seven years in Jesup; a member of Temple of Praise II and the music ministry of Altamaha Healthcare. Mother Sylvia had a great love for children.
Surviving are five children: Theresa Foster of Jesup, Coretta Foster of Brunswick, Denise Foster, Candice Foster and Trever Foster all of Jesup; six grandchildren: Tanisha Foster, Orin Foster, Khrystal Foster, Daniel Foster, Bryan Foster, Destiny Graham; one great- grandchild: Xazian Guyton; three sisters: Evangelist Marian Phillips, Evangelist Rosetta Kinard and Shirley Tillman; two brothers: Bishop Greg Foster and Cecil Foster; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. from the Temple of Praise II with Pastor Kevin L. Benton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Jesup City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
