Mrs. Mary Catherine Filosi, age 90 of Somerville died Sunday in the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Wakefield. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Filosi Sr.
Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Ielpi) Faraco. Mrs. Filosi enjoyed playing bingo, often at St. Ann’s. She was thought of as an excellent cook, a very loving and dedicated family woman and enjoyed family activities. Mrs. Filosi was a member of the “Red Hats” of Brady Tower, Somerville and also enjoyed singing. She was fond of trips to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. She leaves 2 sons, Joseph A. Filosi Jr. of Wisconsin and his wife Catherine, Kenneth R. Filosi of Arlington and his wife Carol M. and a daughter Rosemary "Bootie" Gauvreau of Medford and her companion Steve Parr, 2 Grandsons, Paul "PJ" and Christopher Filosi, granddaughters Katelyn Filosi Andrew, Julie M. Filosi, Nicole and Brittany Gauvreau. Predeceased by 2 Sisters, Phyllis Meehan, Josephine Razzaboni and a brother, Frank Faraco.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. MEDFORD on Thursday at 10 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
