Obituary

John E. Wilkinson Jr, of Plymouth passed away on October 23rd at the age of 61 at Jordan Hospital. Son of Gloria (Niles) Wilkinson and the late John “Jack” Wilkinson Sr of Middleboro, he is survived by his beloved wife Suzanne (Faa) of Plymouth, his daughter Charlene Chartier of New Bedford and his son Beau Wilkinson of Largo, FL. He also leaves his 9 grandchildren Colby and Devin Orander, Zoe Jacobsen, Austin and Dane Wilkinson, Emma, Alden, Cedar and Escher Chartier and his sister Donna Merritt and her husband William and their son John of Middleboro. John was born in Weymouth and graduated from Brockton High School in 1967. After graduating, he joined the Air Force and served during Vietnam as a Law Enforcement Specialist. He re-entered the Air Force in 1974, serving as a jet engine technician until 1982. John was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #4 and worked in the industry for 20 years, most recently for Thyssenkrupp. John and his wife and family have lived in Plymouth for 26 years, after living in many parts of the country and Germany while he served in the Air Force. He enjoyed golf, traveling, fishing, all sports and especially spending time with his family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th at the National Cemetery in Bourne at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Wednesday, October 28th from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield St, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
