Over the last 6 months of his illness he received hundreds of emails and cards from former students and others from all over the country giving testimony to his true ability to have a profound effect on many students and colleagues and to touch their lives. Many of them talked of lasting friendships with Allan that will always be remembered and treasured and had similar testimonies such as this one from a former student. There are few people you meet along your life's journey that propel you to the next stage and you provided that for me. I remember how much you loved your job and the kids you taught. I saw the passion you had for education and how you liked to push young people to excel and go for that next level in their development. You set high standards and expected a lot from you students. You helped me see beyond what I could do for myself and instead examined how to be part of something bigger. I thank you for that and I am grateful you were on my path.

Allan truly loved his family and was a great father and husband. Although his time on this earth was too short his profound love for his family and the values he instilled in each one of us will be cherished and remembered always.
