Obituary

Killilea, George J, of Woburn, October 21st. Beloved husband of Ann (Byron). Devoted father of Kathleen Killilea of Woburn and Megan Killilea of Canton. Cherished brother of Kenneth W. Killilea and his wife Karen of Stoneham. Son of the late George W. and Lena (Re) Killilea. Son-in-law of Dr. Lawrence and Mary Byron of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Saturday, October 24th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in George’s memory to the VNA of Middlesex-East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.





Following a short illness, George J. Killilea, age 57, of Woburn passed away October 21st with his family by his side at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Byron) Killilea and together they shared thirty years of marriage. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late George W. and Lena (Re) Killilea.

George was a life-long resident of Woburn, graduating from Woburn High School and later receiving an associate’s degree from Newbury College. For the past twenty-eight years George has worked as a financial analyst with Dibold Inc. of Canton. George was a proud American and honorably served his country for nineteen years with the National Guard.

George was mostly a devoted family man and was always involved in his daughter's many activities growing up. He was an avid golfer and loved to joke around with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing the organ and over the years he enjoyed traveling to many different places throughout the country.

In addition to his beloved wife, George is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Killilea of Woburn and Megan Killilea of Canton. He was the brother of Kenneth W. Killilea and his wife Karen of Stoneham. Son-in-law of Dr. Lawrence and Mary Byron of Woburn and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Saturday, October 24th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home on Friday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
