Fitchburg
Clarence J. "Jenks" Jenkins Jr., 79, of Fitchburg died Tuesday October 20,
at the Highlands Long Term Care Center.
"Jenks" was born in Fitchburg, October 12, 1930, the son of Clarence J.
Sr. and Blanche (Gilchrest) Jenkins. He grew up in Fitchburg and attended
local schools and attained his GED. His first job was with Brockelman's
Market whichn he alwaysmloved to talk about.
"Jenks" was a 20 year veteran of the U.S.Air Force. After retirement he
graduated from Mount Watchusett Community College in Gardner and
Fitchburg State College. He was a long time bus driver for MART.
Clarence loved sports, especially hometown sports and the Red Sox. He
admired Ted Williams. He loved Jazz and was a staunch Republican.
His family was his pride and joy and he loved having them around
especially in his later years.
Clarence leaves his daughters Joy Goehner and her husband Larry of
Billings, Montana, Karen Clemons of Fitchburg, Cathy Carlovitch of Florida
and Tammy Green and her husband Mark of Fitchburg and his son Mark W.
Anderson. Clarence also leave his brother Roland Jenkins and his wife
Viola of Fitchburg. Eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. His brother Everett Jenkins predeceased him.
Clarence's loving wife of 52 years Janith "Jay" (Eaton) Jenkins died April
21, 2008.
Funeral services for Clarence will be held on Saturday October 24, at 11:00
A.M. in Elm St. Congregational Church 264 Elm St. Burial will be in Forest
Hill Cemetery. Calling hours in the Bosk Funeral Home are Friday from 7 to
9 P.M.
