LOWELL—Carmelo J. Valenti, 89 years old, died Monday August 25th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Lynn J. Woodward, of Lowell.
He was born in Waltham, on February 19, 1914, a son of the late Guiseppe and Antinette (DeCastro) Valenti, and resided many years in the Waltham area.
Mr. Valenti served the United Sates Military in the Navy, the Army and finally the Air Force, with a career spanning over 20 years. He was involved in the Berlin Air Lift, the Battle of the Bulge and Panama. Following his retirement, he was employed in security and grounds work for local companies.
Surviving him besides his wife two sisters: Josephina Tedesco, of Mashpee; and Rose Cusano, of Waltham; also several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
