Paul W.O'Day, 76, formerly of Smithfield, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Cortland Place in Greenville.
Born in Worcester, MA, he was a son of the late Robert P. and Gertrude (Gagnon) O’Day. He had been a resident of Auburn, MA.
He was a graduate of Worcester State Teacher’s College and had taught at Lincoln High School. He later worked as a stock broker at Dean Witter and Merrill Lynch. He was an avid fisherman, antique collector and flea marketer. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, cooking, talking politics, and going to Florida each March to see his beloved Red Sox for spring training.
He is survived by his children, Mark V. O’Day and his partner David Buda of NYC, NY, Ann Lynch and her husband Stephen, Ret. Major RISP, of Glocester, CAPT. Kevin M. O’Day, USCG of Novato, CA, Beth O’Day of Providence, Robert O’Day of Johnston and his girlfriend Kristen Gaucher, his four grandchildren Mathew, Conor, Olivia and Kelsey, a brother Robert P. O’Day of Worcester and his companion Andrea Latino of Auburn, MA. He was the brother of the late John and Joseph O’Day.
Visitation Thursday 4-7pm in the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral services will be private.
