Obituary

WESTON: Linda L. (Crossman) Armstrong, 61, died peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in the comfort of her family at her residence in Weston following a courageous battle of 14 months with brain cancer.
She was born in Taunton on November 12, 1947 the daughter of William D. Crossman of Taunton. She was also the daughter of the late Bernice (Robinson) Crossman and step-daughter to the late Lydia Parent Crossman.

Linda is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Reverend Dr. Frank H. Armstrong, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Weston. Mother of Laura Lee Lynch of Gray, ME and step-mother of Ruth Ann Elliott of Center Barnstead, NH; Kristin Nitschke of North Kingstown, RI; Paula Nitschke of Pawtucket, RI and Lisa Osswald of Austin, TX. Sister of Donald Crossman of Dighton; William Crossman of Dennis; Ray Crossman of Fall River and Debe Brown of Taunton. Also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Linda has been a resident of Weston for the past five years and previously resided in Bedford. She spent her formative years in Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School with the Class of 1965. She continued her education and received her BS in Nursing from Bristol Community College and her Masters in Psychology from Bridgewater State College. She began her career as a Respiratory Therapist and for 15 years was a RN at Children’s Hospital in Boston in the Pediatric Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. For the past five years she has been the Clinical Research Manager at CR Bard Corporation of New Jersey at their Warwick, RI division known as the Davol Corporation. Linda loved animals and wildlife especially watching birds. She will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched.
Private family services will be held in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.

A Memorial Service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Weston, 657 Boston Post Road, Weston.
In lieu of flowers, her family desires memorial gifts in Linda’s memory be sent to the National Brain Tumor Society, East Coast Office, 4 Watertown Street, Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472 or to a charity to benefit animals and wildlife organizations.
