John (Jack) K. Noble, 83, of Carver formerly of Scituate and Hyde Park, MA died Friday, October 16th at his home surrounded by his family.
Jack graduated from Boston Trade School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy Air Corp and served on the USS Antietam in World War II as an aviation artillery gunner in the South Pacific. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon. He served the City of Boston for 32 years as a patrolman as well as a motorcycle officer in District 11 and went on to be Sergeant, Patrol Supervisor of the Tactical Patrol Force.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 62 years, Dorothy M.(Grundy) Noble, his daughter, Nancy Droukas and her husband Nicholas of Middleboro, daughter Jeanne Tierney and her husband, Robert of North Attleboro, son John Noble Jr. and his wife Marybeth of Scituate, 6 grand children and 3 great grand children. His late brother and sister in law Thomas W. Noble and Elizabeth Noble. Sister in law Carol Doran of Groton MA, as well as a niece and many nephews. He was a special man and loved by who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Rt. 58, Carver, MA on Thurs. Oct. 22 at 10:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Plymouth at 11:00AM. Interment in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15PM. Visiting hours on Wed. 4-8PM
