Dominic J. Zammuto passed away on October 14, 2009. He was 80 years old.
Born in Boston, Dominic was a lifelong resident of Malden. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and had also worked in the Chelsea Navy ship yard. Dominic attended Essex Agricultural College to become a butcher and later worked at Nashua Beef. He was a federal employee until retiring in 1973. Dominic enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed growing his own vegetables and fruit trees. Dominic will be missed by all who knew him.
Dominic was the devoted husband of Barbara (Parker) Zammuto, his wife of 54 years. He was the beloved father of Anthony Zammuto of Malden, Angela McLaughlin and her husband David of Auburn, NH, Dawn Zammuto of Saugus and the late Dominic Zammuto Jr. Dominic was the dear brother of Mary Schulz of Malden, Frank Zammuto of Winchester and Angelo Zammuto of Florida. He was the cherished grandfather of Daniel and Mark McLaughlin of Auburn, NH, Heather Conway of Malden and Lorena and Jessica Conway of Saugus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
