Manchester-Sylva “Sub” Edward Forest, 86 died October 10, 2009 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Goffstown on January 1, 1923 the son of Hector and Olivine (Forcier) Forest and had been a lifelong resident of this community.
He attended Bartlett School in Pinardville, he served in the US Navy Seabee during WWII while stationed in Okinawa and Alaska. He was employed by Reynolds Home Heating until his retirement. He was a long time member of the American Legion WM. Jutras Post 43 and the Catholic War Veterans Post 1624, and VFW Post 8214. In His Life:Members of his family include his wife of 63 years Theresa (Bourget) Forest of Manchester, five children, Mrs. Joel (Jacqueline) Bean of San Francisco CA, Mrs. Marc (Janet) Montminy of Shaw A.F. Base, SC., Dennis Forest and his wife Grace of Pembroke, Daniel Forest and his wife Peggy of Epsom, Michael Forest of Manchester, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES:Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 12 Noon in Parish of the Transfiguration, 306 Kelley St.. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
