Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Butler Williams Elrod, 76, of Goose Creek, beloved wife of 46 years to Louie G. “Billy” Elrod, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Roper Hospital.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Entombment will follow at Summerville Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Elrod was born November 11, 1932 in Latta, South Carolina, daughter of the late Tommie Rufus Butler and Della Rouse Butler. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a resident of Goose Creek for 49 years who enjoyed traveling, vacationing and loved her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: 4 sons: Jerry Rufus Williams of Goose Creek, Ricky Marvin Williams (Cindy) of Mt. Pleasant, Tommie William Williams (Amy) Summerville and Jeffrey Wayne Williams (Cindy) of Goose Creek. Grandchildren: Nancy Patricia Williams of Summerville, Billy Rufus Williams (Valerie) Summerville, Cari V. Hicks (Daniel) of Greenville, Ricky M. Williams Jr. (Megan) of Greenville, Rhett B. Williams of El Savador, Tammy Lynne Flanigan ( Steven) of Charleston, Kelly Elizabeth Williams of Mt. Pleasant, April Jean Holcombe (Brian) of Atlanta, Georgia, Tommie William “Beau” Williams, Jr. of Summerville, Lori M. Swan (Chad) of Hanahan, Courtney D. Humbert (Chad) of Hanahan, Lora Jean Matz (Kenny) of West Deptford, New Jersey, Lawrence Dillard “Bear” Williams III of Texas and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son and daughter: Lawrence Dillard Williams, Jr. and Maude Elizabeth Williams.
