Obituary

David Lee “Dad” Tumbleston, 79, of Summerville, widower of Margie Caddin Tumbleston, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Hallmark Healthcare.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11 o’clock at Boonehill United Methodist Church, Summerville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
Dad was born June 21, 1930 in Summerville, son of the late Archie Edward Tumbleston and Flossie Bunch Tumbleston. He was a graduate of Summerville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He was a shriner, a member of the Masonic lodge and a member of Boonehill United Methodist Church. He retired as ship building supervisor with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Surviving are: Daughter: Trina (Charlie) Jones of Summerville, grandchildren: Kelsey Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Brittany Jones of Charleston. 2 brothers: Billy Tumbleston and Edward Tumbleston both of Summerville, 2 sisters: Gladys Davis and Blanche Mauney both of Summerville. He was predeceased by his wife: Margie Tumbleston, son: Paul Tumbleston, brother: Marion Tumbleston, 2 sisters: Virgie Hoats and Annie Thiele, and numerous nieces and nephews.
