Dorothy A. “Dottie” (Giovannini) Tucker, 83 years old of Brockton died Friday October 9, 2009 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital. She was the loving wife for 63 years of George R. “Bud” Tucker.
Dottie was born in Bridgewater a daughter of the late Mario and Irma (Zaniboni) Giovannini. She had lived in Brockton for most of her life and was a 1943 graduate of Brockton High School where she was voted “Most Efficient”. She had also graduated from Brockton Business School and retired as secretary and bookkeeper from Dr. Barce Animal Hospital in Randolph.
Dottie enjoyed flower gardening around her home and attending her children and grandchildren’s sports activities. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and attended the church bible study group.
In addition to her husband, Dottie is survived by her three devoted children William R. Tucker and his wife Ann of Middleboro; Barry M. Tucker and his companion Sue Kusser of East Bridgewater and Bonnie J. Tucker of Middleboro. She was the grandmother of William Tucker of New York, Jennifer Tucker of Taunton and Michael Tucker of Middleboro. She leaves her sister Irma Barce of Randolph wife of the late Dr. Elmer “Red” Barce and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
