Obituary

Myra J. (Holmes) Vartanian, 93 of Franklin died October 10 in her home; she was the wife of the late Vahey Vartanian who died in 1972.
Born in Montpelier Vermont, January 24, 1916, the daughter of the late James and Mertie (Gallup) Holmes, Mrs. Vartanian was raised in Connecticut and had lived in Roslindale and Norwood before moving to Franklin 19 years ago.
Mrs. Vartanian had worked in the Laundry Department of the Howard Johnson Company for several years before retiring.
She had previously worked in the mailroom of the Stone & Webster Company for 15 years and had worked for the Bendix Company during World War II making airplane parts.
Mrs. Vartanian’s family was her greatest love and she also loved to cook and to play BINGO.
She is survived by her son Philip Vartanian of Wrentham and her son Paul Vartanian and his wife Fran of Franklin.
She was the sister of the late Wendell and Pearl Holmes.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Valerie Lingaitis and her husband Shane, Stephanie Leontie and her husband Kurt and Paul Michael Vartanian.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jayden.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Knollwood Park in Canton.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
