Obituary

Fox, Beverly Anne, 84, a resident of Chestnut Hill and Beacon Hill for over 40 years, passed away October 11th. She was a graduate of Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York and Pine Manor College of Chestnut Hill.

Known by intimates as Billie, she loved dogs especially her dachshunds, riding horses, sailing and tennis as well as playing the trumpet, piano and later in life the French horn and recorder. A lover of the fine arts, she was an especially passionate devotee of symphonic and chamber music, art museums and the theater. A voracious reader and creative writer, she kept journals, wrote autobiographical reminiscences and penned stories throughout her life.

Among Billie's many charitable interests were the Boston Symphony, Museum of Fine Arts, WGBH-TV, Rosie's Place, American Red Cross, M.A.D D and the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation (ACCRF). A long-standing supporter of the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Mass, she established the Beverly Anne Fox Fund in support of Riggs' financial aid, Lavender Door arts and crafts and theater programs.

Funeral arrangements are private with a memorial gathering taking place at her home this week.
In lieu of flowers, send donations in her memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter or the ACCRF.
Billie is survived by her brother Robert Kaufman of Asheville, NC, three children of her first marriage; Randall Greene of Greenwich, CT, Bonnie Levar of Briarcliff, NY and Laurie Baldwin of Kalispell, MT, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
