Mary Chester Procter, 92, Clarksville, died went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service Sunday at the church. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 23, 1917 in Clarksville, TN daughter of the late Henry Clay Carney and Ella Sims Carney. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Adolphus B. Chester; daughter, Jennifer Isaacs; sister, Julia Rush; and brothers, Henry (Boots) Carney, Jr. and Buck Carney. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Ramey M. Procter, Jr; two sons, Adolphus Chester (Robin), Knoxville, TN; Greg Procter (Dana), Clarksville; five daughters, Judy Edmondson (Ben), Barbara Jo Knight (Bobby); Janet Jarrell (Philip); and Jackie Chester (Carraway) all of Clarksville; and Tina Procter Robertson (Mike), Guthrie, Ky; three brothers, William Carney, Clarksville; James Carney, Henrietta; and John Carney, Clarksville; two sisters, Martha Atkinson, Idaho; and Barbara Bryant, Clarksville; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Casey. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeff Edmondson, Justin Chester, Chris Jarrell, Jeremy Procter, Jared Procter, and Landon Chester. Honorary pallbearers will be Wally Hicks and Dustin Smith.
