Obituary

OXFORD__Edmund G. Adamiak, Sr., 79, of 23 Wheelock St., died Sat. August 16 in UMASS – Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave., North, Worcester.

His wife, Marion F. (Budreau) Adamiak died in 1993.

He leaves two sons, Arthur F. Adamiak of Douglas and Edmund G. Adamiak, Jr., of Oxford; a brother, Harold Adamiak of Worcester; two sisters Virginia Wright of Shrewsbury and Loretta Berry of Webster, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Stanley and Catherine A. (Krol) Adamiak and has lived in Oxford for 8 years.

Mr. Adamiak was a wire drawer many years for U.S. Steel Corp. before retiring. After he retired he was an umpire 20 years for Ty Cobb Little League, Worcester. He was a member of St. Rochs Church. Mr. Adamiak was once a coach several years for Lou Gehrig Little League, Worcester. He was a Navy veteran of WW II serving with the USS Thorn Hill.

The funeral will be held on Weds. August 20 with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rochs Church, 332 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in Edmunds name may be made to St. Rochs Church Memorial Fund, 334 Main St., Oxford, 01540. Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester is directing funeral arrangements.
