Dorothy Nason, 92

Dateline: Norton, MA

Dorothy (Black) Nason, 92, of Norton passed away on Thursday October 8, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles O. Nason to whom she was wed for 41 years at the time of his death on July 24, 1979.
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland on December 7, 1916 she was a daughter of the late William and Helen (Currie) Black.
Dot spent her early childhood living in Scotland and at age 7 her family moved to America and settled in Taunton. She grew up in Taunton, was educated in Taunton public schools and was a1936 graduate of Taunton High School.
In addition to serving her family as a dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Nason had also worked as a printer at the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro before retiring and had formerly been employed at the Kilburn Glass Co. in Norton.
A Norton resident for the past 73 years, Dot was a longtime member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church where she was a former member of the What-So-Ever Club and enjoyed and looked forward to times spent with her friends in the Lunch Bunch.
Dot was a member of the Norton Grange, enjoyed gardening and when younger was an active bowler and was a member of area bowling leagues. She liked feeding the birds around her house and especially spending time with her family and baking for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted children Elwin W. Nason and his wife Janet, Charles R. “Dick” Nason and his wife Terry, Nancy J. May and her husband Doug and Karen A. Robbins and her husband Stu all of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher Robbins of Norton, Scott May of Attleboro, Kim Osborne of Brockton, Allison White of Clovis, NM, and Amy Ruskey, Keith Nason, Stacey May, Todd May and Jon Nason all of Norton. She was the adoring great grandmother of Al Paluso of Norton, Declan White of Clovis, NM, Julian Osborne of Brockton, Carolyn Robbins of Norton, Jonah Osborne of Brockton and Caitlyn Robbins of Norton. She was the dear sister of Ruth Stafford of Manchester, NH, Helen Parenteau of Norton, Rose Gould of Dunnellon, FL, Beverly Williams of Lexington, KY, George Black of Quincy, IL, James Black of Iowa, Robert Black of Chanute, KS and the late William Black, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday October 17th at 10:00 A.M. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Center Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 16th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
