Obituary

Mary (Graham) Wallace, age 81, a resident of Winchester for over 47 years, passed away October 7, 2009 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Center in Medford after a long illness. Born in Huntington, West Virgina, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Nieman) Graham and step-daughter of the late Thomas Myers. While raising her family in Winchester, Mary was active in the Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTO) in the school system. She also served for many years as a lay minister of the Community of Christ Church in Lexington. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Alven Wallace and the loving mother of Robert Wallace of Salem, MA, Richard Wallace of Salem, NH, Judith Dreivers of Medford and Nancy Melton of Independence, MO. She was also the dear sister of the late Helen Stewart and is further survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visiting Hours will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Mon., Oct. 12 from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Community of Christ Church, 1386 Mass. Ave, Lexington, on Wed., Oct. 14 at 10AM. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will also be held on Sat., Oct. 31 @ 2PM in the Community of Christ Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
