Obituary

Arvilla S. (Conrad) McLaren, 98, died Friday, August 22, in the Odd Fellows Home.

Her husband of over 40 years, Robert Earl McLaren, died in 1976. She leaves 2 sons, Donald E. McLaren of Rutland and Wilson E. McLaren of Boylston, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Five brothers and 1 grandchild predeceased her. She was born in Voglers Cove, Nova Scotia, daughter of Earnest E. and Clara E. (Smith) Conrad. She attended high school in Nova Scotia and later moved to Worcester, where she lived for most of her adult life.

Arvilla was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, its Golden Age group, Martha Circle and worked on the Wesley Herald; Naomi Rebecca Lodge of Odd Fellows Past Noble Grand; Order of the Eastern Star Stella Chapter; Club 52; and volunteered at the Age Center for many years. She was a waitress at Westboro State Hospital, retiring many years ago.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6:30 – 9 p.m., Sunday, August 24, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel.
