Anne M. Whelton, age 63, of Wilmington formerly of North Andover passed away October 5th at the Winchester hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of John F. Whelton Jr. and together they shared 28 years of marriage. Born in Winchester she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary A. (Tubek) Stosez.
Anne was raised and educated in Reading and was a graduate of Reading High School. She worked for many years as an accounts payable administrator retiring almost two years ago. She worked for several different companies over the years but most recently with Video Server of Lexington and Star Sales Corp. of Woburn. In her spair time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and caring for her two dogs. Her biggest joy was spending time with her loving family and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Stephen Kirk and his wife Cheryl of Naples, ME, Brian Kirk of Rutland, VT, Karen Laughlin of Danvers, Andrew Kirk and his wife Jessica of Dunstable. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Kayla, John T., Kyle, Christina, Matthew, Georgia Anne and Abigail Kirk, Brian, Karinda and Arthur Oleson. She is further survived by her two brothers, Richard and Jack Stosez both of Reading.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo - Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Friday, October 9th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226 ATTN: Contribution Services, Breast Cancer Research.
