Obituary

Jane Wilson Molyneaux, of Plymouth, formerly of Woodstock, NY, passed away at the Golden Living Center at the age of 92 on October 3rd. Beloved wife of the late Abram F. Molyneaux, also of Woodstock, NY, she is survived by her daughter H. Janette Molyneaux and her husband Arthur Hatch of Plymouth, 2 step-grandchildren and her brother Richard D. Wilson of Boston. Jane was best known for her beautiful soprano voice and her many years singing with Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians. She also recorded Kurt Weill’s “Down in the Valley” with Alfred Drake and Victor Young’s Orchestra and “The Student Prince” with Lauritz Melchior and Victor Young’s Orchestra among other recordings for Decca. There followed early television spots on “Celebrity Time” hosted by Conrad Nagel and a time on the Robert Q. Lewis Show. Jane ended her formal career by joining “The Carolers” with her brother Jonathan, they toured the country doing Community Concerts under the personal management of William Judd of Columbia Artist Management. The Carolers performed twice at the Whie House for President Eisenhower, the first time following a state dinner for Queen Mother Elizabeth with an informal encore for the queen in the family quarters on the second floor. There are no visiting hours and an informal memorial service will be held at a later date in Woodstock, NY.
