Charles E. Hunter of Reading passed on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Winchester Hospital in Winchester. He was 77 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, Charles was the beloved son of the late Charlotte (McKee) and Edward A. Hunter. Charles was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a love for family, he will be sorely missed.
Charles proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army.
Charles was a loyal employee of State Street Bank for over 40 years.
Charles was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Sumner) Hunter. He was the devoted father of Maryellen Hunter and her husband James of Lawrence, Annemarie "Anna" Nolty and her husband Christopher of Reading and Edward Hunter and his wife Kimberly of Andover. Charles was the cherished grandfather of Daniel, Jake, Riley and Charlotte. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING, Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Charles’ Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment with Military Honors Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
