Winifred T. Johnson, RN, 69, of Thornton Street, died Friday in the Hospice Intake Center, Providence. She was the wife of Clinton H. Johnson. They were married for 45 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Winifred T. (Shields) Fallon. She had lived in Greenville since 1986 previously living in Cranston. She had attended Adelphi University and the Creedmoor State Hospital School of Nursing. She was an RN at RI Hospital and St. Joseph Rehabilitation Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with her family, reading and baking. She did volunteer work. She loved to work on crossword puzzles, crocheting and knitting for people in need.
Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Donna M. Walker and her husband, Michael of North Providence, her granddaughters, Stephanie and Alyssa, brothers, John Fallon of Raleigh, NC and Stephen Fallon of Greenville and Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the Mother of the late David A. Johnson and sister of the late Joseph Fallon and Catherine Richards.
Her Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
