Brunswick- Mrs. Sheila Edwards Embery, age 48, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Southeast GA Health System in Brunswick. She was born in Kinston, NC and had lived in Glynn County over 30 years. She was a member of The Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Brookman. Sheila was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Onnie James “O.J.” Edwards, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil K. Embery of Brunswick; a daughter, Amy Lynn Embery of Brunswick; a son, Virgil K. Embery, Jr., of Brunswick; her mothers, Ernestine Apanites and husband Michael of Freemont, OH and Pauline Edwards of Jesup; four sisters, Pansy Holland of Cox, Paulette Parker of Jesup, Renee Carter of Brunswick and Theresa Apanites of Freemont, OH; eleven brothers, Bronnie Edwards of Goldsboro, NC, Delaney Edwards of Smithfield, NC, Donley Edwards of Beulaville, NC, Ricky Edwards, Buddy Edwards, and Randy Cope of Brunswick, Kevin Lane of Atlanta, O.J. Edwards, Jr. and Albert Edwards of Jesup, Robert Apanites of Greensboro, NC and Joseph Apanites of Freemont, OH; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Payton, Payon, Emmanuel, Kayla and Logan, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Pentecostal Church of Brunswick with the Reverend Dewitt Foster officiating.
Interment will follow in the Holland Cemetery in Cox, Ga.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
