Obituary

Donald Herbert “Don” Veitch, Sr., 69 of Whitman, passed away Friday, October 2nd in the West Roxbury VA Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Diane S. (Willis) Veitch. He was born in Brockton, son of the late George S. and Faustine (Cousens) Veitch. Don was educated in Brockton, graduating from Brockton High School in 1958.Don served in the United States Army for six years. He was a retired Service Manager .He worked in the Automotive field most of his life. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a fan of the Boston Bruins. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 22 of Whitman and the Hanson Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his beloved wife Diane, he is survived by his daughter Darlene P. Solari and her husband David of Kingston, his two sons, Donald H. Veitch, Jr, and his wife Kim of Northboro, Derek W. Veitch and his wife Annmarie of Colorado, his sister Marilyn Hall of Raynham, his mother-in-law Carole DesLauriers of Whitman, his father-in-law Hal Willis of Whitman, his brother–in-law Edward Willis and his wife Heather of North Easton: also 7 grandchildren, several nieces,nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late, George S. Veitch. He was also the former husband of the late Giovanna Veitch.
His services will be held on Wednesday October 7th at 8:30AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 11:30AM in the MA V. A. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 6th from 4:00-8:00PM.
