Obituary

Rita A. (Desruisseau) Audette, of Dartmouth died Friday October 2, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a period of declining health. She was the wife of William R. Audette; they had been married for 69 years.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Philippe and Emma (Pothier) Desruisseau, she lived in Dartmouth for many years.

Mrs. Audette was formerly employed as a chiropractic assistant at Leve Chiropractic Office.

She had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a graduate of Kinyon Business School.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul W. Audette and his wife Elizabeth of New Bedford; three granddaughters, Lynne Monaghan and her husband Antonio, Debra Sylvaria and her husband Ellsworth, and Sandra Zatir and her husband George; seven great-grandchildren, Joel, Bryant, Alicia, Troy, Elizabeth, Melissa, and Alex; and a great-great-granddaughter, Laura.

She was the sister of the late Rhea Belliveau, Sodia, Lorenzo, Abner, and Leo Desruisseau.

A private Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday morning at St. Julie Billiart Church, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of one's choice. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
