Obituary

Whitman – Michael Patrick “Mic” “Mikey” Tobin, Jr. 29 a lifelong resident of Whitman passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 29. He was the beloved son of Joanne T. (Meyers) and Michael P. Tobin Sr.

Mike was raised in Whitman and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School Class of 1998. As an athlete Mike was a baseball pitcher, a soccer goalie, and during his years at Whitman-Hanson a wrestler, and a member of the Field & Track team where he holds the team’s shot putt record. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Boston Bruins. He was a fourth year electrician’s apprentice.

Mike enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music (especially Tool), playing video games, fishing and the outdoors, often walking his dogs at Ames Nowell State Park.

In addition to his loving parents, Mike was dearly loved by his sister and brother Kelly J. Tobin and Patrick W. Tobin. He is also survived by his grandmothers Jeanne M. Tobin and Lorraine Varney, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, notably Jay Makien and Paul Skarinka as well as many others who loved him and will miss him very much.

His memorial service will be held Monday October 5th, at 7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel on Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held three hours prior to the service from 4 – 7 PM.
