Obituary

Thelma P. (Pullen) Knowlton, 100 of Franklin died October 1 in the Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Freeman B. Knowlton, who died in 1993.
Born in Franklin, May 15, 1909, the daughter of the late Francis and Harriett (Chorley) Pullen, Mrs. Knowlton was a lifelong Franklin resident.
A homemaker most of her life, she also worked for many years as a nurses’ aide at Pondville Hospital in Norfolk.
Mrs. Knowlton was a member of the Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the Franklin United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the choir for 36 years.
Mrs. Knowlton was a founding member of the Franklin Bridge Club of which she was a member of over sixty years.
She was also a member of the Roger Williams Society.
She is survived by her sons Roger Knowlton of Medford, New York and Freeman B. “Rusty” Knowlton Jr. of Coventry, Rhode Island.
She was the mother of the late Sylvia Hoyle.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5 in the United Methodist Church of Franklin at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Centre Cemetery in Wrentham.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin.
