Betty S. Floyd, 57, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at her residence.
Memorial Services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, October 4 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fitzgerald with Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. Honorary pallbearers are: Matt Newman, Gus Reinhardt, Billy Smith, Dave Riddle, Brook Barstad, Donnie Weeks, Gary Newman and Bobby Walker. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ms. Floyd was born December 19, 1951 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late John Wiley and Shelly Floyd. A lifetime resident of Fitzgerald, she graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1970 and earned her Associates degree from ABAC. Ms. Floyd retired after 27 years of service as a caseworker from Irwin County DFCS. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and April Faulkner of Clam Gulch, Alaska; sister, Sue Floyd Newman of Marietta and longtime companion, Bill Faulkner of Mystic as well as 3 nieces and nephews, Matt Newman of Marietta, Emily LaMontayne of Valdosta and Gus Reinhardt of Ashburn.
