Robert C. Woods, 77, died suddenly Tuesday September 29, 2009 at his Derry home. Born in Windsor, VT to the late Clarence and Daisy (Werrill) Woods, he worked for the Digital Equipment Corporation as a warehouseman.
Mr. Woods lived in Londonderry for 25 years before moving to Beaver Lake in 2001. He was an avid sports fan and an active fisherman who truly enjoyed his time on the lake. He was a great cook and was famous for his Greek dinners. He was a former coach of Babe Ruth Little League and most enjoyed spending time with his cherished grandchildren, teaching them to fish and participating in fishing derby's with them.
Mr. Woods leaves his beloved wife of 55 years, Caroline (Hoover) Woods. He also leaves his two loving sons, Marc Woods of Londonderry, NH, Scott Woods and his wife Nancy of Litchfield, NH, two adored grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Woods and a brother, Leo Orr of Florida. He was predeceased by his son, David R. Woods in 1994 and by a brother and a sister.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 5-7:30pm at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The funeral service was held Friday at 9am in the funeral home with the burial following in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
