Mrs. Stella (Petropoulakos) Eliopoulos, 104, passed away Sunday September 27, 2009 at Saints Medical Center.
She was born August 15th, 1905 in Greece a daughter of the late Peter and Chrysoula Petropoulakos. Wife to the late Christos Eliopoulos.
Stella immigrated to the United States in 1921 settling in Lowell with her family. She worked for many years in the local textile mills.
She was also a homemaker, raising five children with her husband Christos.
Stella was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. She was also a resident of D'Youville Senior Care for seven years.
She is survived by two sons, Peter Eliopoulos and his wife Mary of Dracut, George Eliopoulos of Hudson, NH, three daughters, Eva Eliopoulos of Lowell, Julia DeVincenzi and her husband Aldo of Dracut, and Andronike Rigs of Pelham,NH; eleven grandchildren, Gary, Diane, Chris Eliopoulos, Susan Burke, Christine Gelineau, JoEllen Greenwood, Gail Green, LeAnn Conners, Michael DeVincenzi, Andrea Belley, and Leah Rigs; also twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 A.M. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 A.M. with a funeral service to be held the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell at 11 A.M. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the D'Youville Senior Care, 981 Varnum St, Lowell, Ma. 01854.
