D. Franklin Thomas, 68, of Edisto Island, husband of Dorothy Hills Thomas, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Heartland of West Ashley.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 4 o’clock at The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island, 2164 Hwy 174, Edisto Island, SC. There will be a visitation from 3 o’clock until the hour of service in the fellowship hall.

Franklin was born November 6, 1940 in Moncks Corner, son of the late Homer Franklin Thomas and Gertrude Wilson Thomas. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and horseback riding. He loved his job. He was an Elder at Johns Island Presbyterian Church for many years and was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Edisto Island.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: Daughter: Susan Santucci of Edisto Island; Daughter: Ann Robinson (Eddie) of Edisto Island; Son: David Thomas of James Island; 3 Grandchildren: Cassie Robinson, Devin Santucci, Talia Santucci all of Edisto Island; 3 Sisters: Zona Stearns, Marie Lowndes, and Lynn Smith. He was predeceased in death by 1 Brother.
