Richard Whitaker age 55 of Stoughton, formerly of Canton passed away unexpectedly September 26th at home. Born in Boston, he graduated from Braintree High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a self-employed contractor for many years. He has lived in Stoughton for the last 4 years and previously lived in Canton & Quincy. Beloved son of Ernest & Joan (Amirault) Whitaker of Quincy. Father of Sarah Whitaker of AK. Brother of Ron Whitaker & his wife Daria of Milton, Carol Downey & her husband Jimmy of Rockland, Dolores Johnson & her husband Steve & Joanne Colassi & her husband George all of Canton. Also survived by his close friend Leesa Connolly & her son Garrett of Stoughton & many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday morning at 10 am. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
