Paavo “Willie” W. Ovaska, 76, of 10 Lillian Avenue, in the Rochdale section of Leicester died Sunday, Sept. 27 in the Meadows of Leicester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 24 years Joyce C. (Gould) Ovaska, two sons Peter and Jeffrey Ovaska, a daughter Ann Miller Harvey, three step-sons Edward R. Jarobski of Leicester, Gary E. Jarobski of Oxford, Stephen M. Jarobski of Leicester, two step-daughters Darlene Day and Susan Dufault both of Leicester, 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ovaska was born in Lunenburg son of William and Anna (Tirri) Ovaska. He was a Truck Driver for several area companies for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Leary. He enjoyed sports and gardening.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6:00 PM in MORIN-MORISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Calling hours will precede the Service from 4:00-6:00 PM. Burial will be private in South Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
