Obituary

Pembroke – Kimberly A. (Thorp) Kinsherf 40 passed away surrounded by many members of her loving family on Friday September 25 in the Mass General Hospital, after a courageous eight year battle against cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey Kinsherf and her two beautiful children Tyler and Nicole.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman she was the daughter of Stanton and Ruth (Wallaston) Thorp of East Bridgewater and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High Class of 1987. She also attended Massasoit College where she majored in business.

Kimberly was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Whitman, where she was baptized and later married. She was an active member of the Rainbow Girls, and had served as Worthy Advisor for two terms, and was given the honor of receiving the Grand Cross of Color.

She was an active member and volunteer of the Eastside Improvement Association of Brockton where she served on their Board of Directors.

Kimberly was well known in the South Shore area for having many friends. She had worked at several different restaurants through out the area and at one time owned and operated her own restaurant the “Something Else” in Plympton.

In addition to her loving husband, children and parents she is survived by her sister and her constant companion Pamela R. Thorp of E. Dennis and Bradenton, FL, and her sisters Beverly S. Lannan and her husband Joe of Windham, NH, Traci L. Parker of East Bridgewater, Terri L. Thorp of Taunton, and Mary Duquette of CA, her brothers Michael E. True and his wife Barbara of Plympton, and Edward S. Thorp of Abington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her very close friends Cheryl Eastman and Kelly Flynn-Gallagher. She was the sister of the late Raymond J. Thorp.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday September 30 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday September 29 from 4-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Association 1115 West Chestnut Street / Suite 301 Brockton, MA 02301.
