TAUNTON – Gerald M. Tucker, Jr., 67, died Sept. 25, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, as a result of injuries sustained in a Norton car accident several weeks ago.
A Taunton resident, he was born in Brighton, the son of the late Gerald M. and Frances Tucker, Sr.
Educated in Roxbury schools, Mr. Tucker was later employed as a construction worker for Space Metal Buildings for many years, before retiring several years ago.
He enjoyed, camping, fishing, hunting, and cooking.
He leaves a son, Gerald M. Tucker, III of Taunton; a daughter, Melissa McFrazier and her husband Jay of Albany, NY; a stepson, Richard “Ricky” Medeiros of Taunton; a stepdaughter, Melissa DeCosta of Taunton; a sister, Marilyn Sanchez of Port Charlotte, FL; 2 grandchildren, Nichole Shaikh of Plymouth, and Jeremy Mello of Somerset; a great-granddaughter, Cassidy Dumont of Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Erica Lyn Dumont, and the brother of the late Walter Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Tuesday, Sept. 29th at 12 Noon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will receive visitors from 11 to 12, prior to the service.
