Mildred Spicer Nolan, 84, of Fitzgerald died Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, September 29, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester Anthony officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nolan was born in Irwin County on October 5, 1924 to the late Oren C. and Katie Sirmans Spicer. She was a retired employee of the Fitzgerald City Schools serving in the lunchroom for many years. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nolan is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Nolan of Fitzgerald; Sister: Grace Schultz of Jacksonville, FL; Brother: Carl Spicer of Summerfield, FL; Grandchildren: Michelle Harper, Lisa (Paul) Sullivan, Andrea (Kevin) Bertie and Brittany Nolan; and 10 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick H. Nolan, sons, John Carroll Nolan and Wayne Nolan, 2 Grandchildren, Cynthia Patricia Nolan and John Andrew Nolan, 3 sisters and a brother.
